The Million Tree Project

2026年8月12日至19日，上海根与芽百万植树计划宁夏林地调查活动在白芨滩国家级自然保护区展开，5名志愿者跟随上海根与芽百万植树计划团队，历时约一周时间共完成对8片治沙林地的走访调查。从2015年开始算起，上海根与芽与白芨滩保护区的合作也已走过第十个年头。

From August 12 to 19, 2026, the Shanghai Roots & Shoots Million Tree Project (MTP) carried out its annual Ningxia Forest Survey at the Baijitan National Nature Reserve. Over the course of one week, a team of five volunteers and MTP staff surveyed eight afforestation sites. The year 2026 marks ten years of partnership between Shanghai Roots & Shoots and the Baijitan National Nature Reserve.

2026年7月17日-24日，内蒙古生态调查紧接着夏季林地调查接续召开。生态调查的主要工作就是调查样方内地表植物的种类和数量，统计植被结构等。在短短的数天内，5位志愿者与百万植树计划工作人员共计调查6块林地，42样点，统计到植物53种11398株。

From July 17 to 24, 2026, the Inner Mongolia Forest Ecological Survey was conducted immediately after the summer forest survey. The main task was to count plant species and numbers on the ground and check the overall vegetation structure. In just a few days, five volunteers and Million Tree Project (MTP) staff surveyed 6 forest plots and 42 sample sites, recording 11,398 plants across 53 species.

2026年7月9日-7月16日，内蒙古夏季林地调查活动如期开展，三位志愿者与百万植树计划工作人员在一周的时间内完成了对位于内蒙古通辽市2010-2012年的中龄林地的走访调查，共调查4块林地、10个样点约400棵树的数据，同时采集树芯约30份、标本约60份。

From July 9 to 16, 2026, the Million Tree Project (MTP) conducted its summer forest survey in Inner Mongolia. Over the course of one week, three volunteers joined MTP staff in surveying four plots of middle-aged forests planted between 2010 and 2012 in Tongliao. Together, we measured about 400 trees in 10 sample sites, collected 30 tree cores and prepared 60 plant specimens.

2026年百万植树计划造林在内蒙古通辽市科尔沁左翼后旗吉尔嘎朗镇开展。该年林地的造林地总面积为1230亩。林地归当地农户所有。

The Million Tree Project (MTP) 2026 forest is located at Jiergalang Town, Horqin Zuoyi Houqi, Tongliao, Inner Mongolia. The total area of trees planted on this plot is 82 hectares, owned by local farmers.

2026年4月10日至4月20日，来自13家企业、5所学校等共131位志愿者来到内蒙古通辽市，参与到由上海根与芽百万植树计划组织的2026年内蒙古植树行中去。当南方大地沉浸在一片春的盛情时，内蒙古还是一片荒芜。

From April 10 to 20, 2026, 131 volunteers from 13 companies and 5 schools participated in the tree planting trips organized by Shanghai Roots & Shoots in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia. While Southern China was already bathed in the warmth of spring, Inner Mongolia remained a desolate landscape.

2025年，百万植树计划宁夏项目继续与灵武市白芨滩防沙林场合作，共得到16家林地赞助商的支持，在白芨滩保护区内总计治沙1600亩，栽植各类灌木共32万余株。

Supported by 16 forest sponsors, the Million Tree Project continued its desert control efforts to work with Baijitan Tree Farm in 2025. Another 320,000 shrubs have been planted, covering a total area of 106.67 hectares in Baijitan Nature Reserve.

本年度林地调查分两个阶段实施：2025年7月10日至17日，项目组织志愿者对4块近熟林开展抽样调查，共完成16个样地、480株林木的测量工作；2025年10月14日至11月1日，雇佣当地农户历时14天，完成22处林地、80个样地的普查，累计测量林木2870株。

This year's forest survey was carried out in two phases: From July 10th to 17th, 2025, volunteers conducted a sampling survey on 4 near - mature forests. A total of 16 sample sites and 480 trees were measured. From October 14th to November 1st, 2025, local farmers were hired to help with the survey work, together completing the survey in 22 forest plots and 80 sample sites over 14 days, measuring a total of 2,870 trees.

2025年8-9月，来自9家企业、1所学校的共85位志愿者齐聚宁夏灵武市白芨滩国家级自然保护区，用双手扎下1362个草方格、在450平方米的沙地上撒下灌木种子，

亲自开启了一场与荒漠的绿色对话。

From August to September 2025, 85 volunteers from 9 companies and 1 school gathered at the Baijitan National Nature Reserve in Lingwu City, Ningxia. Together, they constructed 1,362 straw grids and sowed shrub seeds across 450 square meters of sandy land, connecting with the land through their actions.
